The Bible Society of Zambia distributed a cumulative total of 515,635 Bibles during the period 2004-2011:

With regard to translation the complete Bible is in print in 16 languages while the New Testament is in 7 Zambian languages. The first vernacular Bibles published were the Mambwe New Testament published in 1901 and the Nsenga New Testament Bible in 1905. Currently work is on-going to translate the complete Bible into Nkoya, Ila and Mambwe-Lungu. Work is on-going to produce the Tonga Study Bible. The Bemba and Luvaleare being revised. Finally, work is about to commence on the revision of the Nsenga New Testament and subsequent translation of Nsenga Bible.
Further, Children’s Bibles of various types were also procured and distributed.
